Rahul is no-nonsense, focused while Shibu is his usual, jocular self, waving to people on buses or secretly admiring Rahul’s fancy bike! Shibu, the semi-literature, crude orphan who makes a living by stealing two-wheelers and pawning them off to a dealer in stolen vehicles, takes one look at Rahul's Kawasaki Ninja and joins him on the plea that he knows the topography and can guide him to his lost lady-love Nandini. Rahul does not realise that his expensive two-wheeler is not in line with Nandini's way of thinking. Rahul gets into his Kawasaki Ninja ("She will not accept me in my expensive car") and sets out to search for her and share her life along with her ideology. Unlike most leading ladies in mainstream films, Nandini has a mind of her own and she calls it quits with Rahul. She loves to work for the poor and the downtrodden with little access to healthcare, mainly in the slums, conducting medical camps and so on. Rahul, a spoilt rich boy falls in love with her. It is Nandini (Koel Mullick), an orphaned girl brought up by a Christian priest, who grows up to become a doctor. But there is a subtle underlining of this bonding by a third dimension that makes the journey possible. Rahul and Shibu represent the 'two worlds' of the title. It journeys along with the two protagonists, Rahul (Jeet) and Shibu (Dev) who ride on their respective two-wheelers across the arid, brown, rough and dusty roads to become friends along the way. Raj Chakraborty's Dui Prithibi is dished up in his inimitable style. Male buddy films are not quite the order of the day in Bengali cinema.
